ACP Reflection Paper
The topic I chose to do my senior project on is Racial Profiling. I chose this topic because it’s still happening around the world now, also because young African American males are targeted by the law enforcement. Another reason why because seeing what young black males go through in today society is upsetting , the way cops look at African American males they think they're always up to some trouble and quick to target them. Last but not least, I chose it because I just had my son two months ago and I don’t want him to go through the same situation when he gets older. My ACP plan was to Interview a couple of students and an officer to get their opinion about what they know and how can it be prevented. I prepared my ACP by typing up questions and having a video camera so I can interview them . My ACP went well as planned and my volunteers had answered each question with complete sentences and gave their opinions about why they think racial profiling only affects young African American males. The people that were involved in my ACP was Officer Bullock and six males that attends to New Media. Overall , my ACP went well as I planned , but what went badly was that people were talking and whispering. Another thing was since I recorded my ACP outside the wind was blowing so it was kind of hard but you can still hear the questions being asked and their response.
My ACP affected people positively by learning more about racial profiling and how it can be prevented. Also, talking to the police officer and understanding the reasons why they might think the law enforcement only target one specific race more than other races. If I did my ACP over again , I would change my questions and audience . I would change my questions that I asked because they were simple questions and some students really didn't know a lot about racial profiling . Also , What I mean by the audience is I should of had the officer talk to all the boys in New Media about racial profiling and how it can be lessen and preventable instead of interviewing six males . Overall , my ACP was pretty good and a lot of questions were answered.
